This afternoon was a bit rough and left me feeling down.
I started going through some old photos and saw many things that lifted my spirits.
Interestingly enough, a simple google search of ‘happy’ yields many smiley faces not unlike this one:
For me, happy is more likely to conjure images like this:
Images that lead me down memory lane remembering good times, simpler times. Sometimes, I wish I could go back.
If today has you feeling like me, I hope you found a smile in one of these memories of mine.
Tomorrow is a new day. Cheers to that.
What does happy mean to you?
Walk in love, dear readers.

Just a curiosity question. In the trail ride what type of bride are you riding in? Is it a hackamore? or is there a bit? I have ridden my dressage horse in a hackamore when he had a mouth cut. Interesting. Also I’ve ridden in a combination hackamore and snaffle bit.

There is a bit. It is a solid, ported, shank bit. Somewhat of a modified spade in the western world. It is her ‘everyday’ bridle now for a while. I rode her in a hackamore for a while when she was 4 or 5. It was one of those mechanical ones with a curb. Not my favorite, but there was one at my disposal so I figured I would give it a try before I moved her up out of a snaffle and into a curb type bit. She really seemed to like it. Sometimes I just ride her in a rope halter. She likes to mix it up.
